Tom Kovic is the founder and Principal Advisor at Victory Collegiate Consulting where he oversees all aspects of the Victory service and advises individual families and prospective student-athletes in developing and executing personal plans for the college search. He has helped place over 500 candidates to top colleges and universities during the past 11 years. Tom lectures widely throughout the United States and has delivered countless college seminars to thousands of participants since launching Victory in 2006. Notable presentations include The US National Lacrosse Convention, USA Gymnastics National Congress, the IECA National Convention and multiple State Athletics Directors Conventions. Tom is a nationally renowned leader in the field of college recruiting and the author of “Reaching for Excellence: An Educational Guide for College Athletics Recruiting.” In addition, he is a monthly contributor to numerous educational and sports publications in the areas of college recruitment. In 19 seasons as head coach of Gymnastics at The University of Pennsylvania, Tom helped lead the Quakers to 8 Ivy League Team Championships and 2 Eastern Conference Team Titles. Subsequently, he was twice named ECAC Coach of the Year and honored as the NCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2004. Tom Kovic received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Temple University (Phi Epsilon Kappa/Outstanding Senior Award) where he was a 2 sport athlete and received his masters degree from The University of Illinois. Tom, his wife Jennifer and daughter Hannah reside in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
Demer Holleran joined the Victory Collegiate Consulting staff as a senior advisor in January, 2011 with the primary focus of advising squash candidates. Holleran received All-Ivy recognition in squash, field hockey and lacrosse while an undergraduate at Princeton. She was the US Squash National Champion in singles and/or doubles from 1989-2004. Demer was head coach of women’s squash at the University of Pennsylvania from 1992-2001, leading her team to the 2000 National Championship. Holleran’s countless accolades include: USOC Squash Coach of the Year 2000; US Squash Hall of Fame inductee 2004; US Women’s National Team Head Coach 2003-2007 and US Squash Achievement Award 2010. In 2006 Demer launched the Fairmount Athletic Club, a 14 squash court fitness and squash center that annually hosts several US Squash National Ranking junior tournaments.

Dave Yorke is our senior baseball advisor who brings 12 years of college coaching experience to Victory. Dave spent time at several Northeast college institutions as a head baseball coach and athletic administrator, including Drew, Seton Hall and The City College of New York. He played 1B and 3B for Drew University and graduated holding most of the offensive team records. Beyond his extensive coaching background, Dave has worked as a scout and instructor for the New York Mets. Dave Yorke brings a level of knowledge to Victory that is un-matched. He has coached in every level of college baseball and thoroughly understands college recruiting practices and rules for every college level.

David Haimson serves as Victory Recruiting’s new hockey advisor. Born in Montreal, Quebec, David attended the prestigious Milton Academy in Milton, MA. At Williams College, David was the starting goaltender for the entirety of his tenure and was a Division III All American in 1999 and 2000, 1998 ECAC East player of the year, NESCAC Rookie of the Year, and the Williams College Purple Key Award for leadership, character and ability. Following Williams College, David played one season for the Mobile Mysticks of the ECHL. Victory founder Tom Kovic is excited with the addition of Haimson to the advisement staff: “David brings unique qualities to a truly niche sport. He pushes his students to pursue high academic achievement, while guiding them on their path to college hockey. I see David as an invaluable resource for student-athletes aiming to play ice hockey at the collegiate level.” David and his family currently reside in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.

Mimi Smith joined the Victory Collegiate Consulting staff as a senior field hockey advisor in June of 2016. Mimi attended Old Dominion University where she had an impressive career: Rookie of the Year, NCAA National Championship, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year and the prestigious Honda Broderick Award given to the standout female athlete in her sport. She went on to play for the US National Field Hockey for 6 years. After taking some time off, Mimi got involved in coaching club field hockey and high school officiating. Mimi has been an active club coach for 6 years and started her own club, Reach Field Hockey Club in 2012 while also coaching varsity field hockey at St. Paul’s School for Girls for 4 years. Coach Smith continues to enjoy the game on personal level as a member of the adult club field hockey teams, Team Heineken and DC Dragons. She is also a NCAA Division I, II, and III field hockey official. “I am thrilled to have Mimi join the Victory Advisement Team as Senior Field Hockey Advisor,” says Tom Kovic. “Her reputation as a world class player and dedicated coach makes Mimi an ideal candidate to successfully guide prospects and families in the college search.”.

Curt Foxx joined Victory in Collegiate Consulting in January of 2017. He brings 10 years of NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Head Coaching Experience, and also NCAA assistant football experience. A Chicago native, and graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois, Curt played football and lacrosse at Kenyon College. Curt acquired his Master’s in Education at Vanderbilt University in 2005. Most Recently, Curt resurrected a 0-56 Hood College Men’s Lacrosse Program and a 0-38 Hendrix College Men’s Lacrosse Program. He presided over and still holds every team, program, and individual record for the Hendrix College Men’s Lacrosse Program, and many for the Hood Men’s Lacrosse Program. He also served as the running backs coach on the #1 offense in the nation in 2016 and has extensive recruiting knowledge of both NCAA lacrosse and football. Curt also coaches travel clubs in California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Arkansas. He coached high school football in Maryland and North Carolina, and Lacrosse in Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, and Arkansas. He founded Little Rock Lacrosse, which had travel teams, leagues, and clinics for local K-12 boys and girls. “I am excited to welcome Kurt to the Victory team,” says Tom Kovic. “Kurt’s passion for athletics and his dedication as an all-around educator is an ideal formula to assist and empower families and prospects.”

David Donn joined the Victory Collegiate coaching staff as a senior tennis advisor in February 2017. A former Division I tennis player at the University of Richmond, David was a three time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, leading his team to their first two NCAA Division I Tournament appearances in school history and was named the university’s Student-Athlete of the Year for his efforts.
Prior to joining Victory David spent nearly a decade as both a men’s and women’s college tennis coach at Williams College, University of Redlands and Washington College. During his time with those programs he guided his teams to 9 post season berths, including 3 NCAA Tournament appearances, 2 NCAA Elite Eights; coaching 6 All-Americans, 34 All-Conference award winners and 3 Conference Players of the Year.
As a recruiter David developed a strategic plan that resulted in multiple nationally ranked recruiting classes, including the #1 overall Division III class in the country. In addition, David is a PTR Certified Tennis Professional and a CPLC Certified Professional Life Coach. He is eager now to provide his wealth of knowledge and resources to families looking to navigate the college search process.

John Leekley joined Victory as Senior Rowing Advisor in March of 2017 after 15 years of coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels. Victory Collegiate Consulting founder Tom Kovic is excited to say the least: “John is a dynamic personality with tremendous recruiting knowledge along with a strong foothold in the US Rowing community.” John is a 2001 graduate of Washington College, where he was captain and MVP of the rowing team as well as a member of the basketball team. After a tenure on Capitol Hill and five years as a high school and club coach in the D.C. area, he returned to Washington where he spent nine years as the head coach of the men’s rowing team, earning six Mid Atlantic Rowing Conference coach of the year awards as well as five team conference championships. He had two athletes row for US national teams while at Washington and took the team to the IRA Regatta in 2016. Also while at Washington College, he ran his own summer camp, Chesapeake Crew Camps, which focused on broadening the rowing experience of high school athletes through sculling and small boat work. John has also spent time as a coach at Endicott College as well as the Navy rowing camps, Northeast rowing center, and Thompson’s Boat Center. John holds a MA from Georgetown University and a MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts.
